Slow Cooker Pork Hocks (Knuckle) Recipe

Instructions

  • Combine pork hocks, onion, and garlic in a slow cooker.
  • Whisk together the chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, tomato paste, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  • Pour the mixture over the slow-cooked pork hocks.
  • Cook for 8-10 hours on low or 4-5 hours on high, or until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.
  • Remove the pork hocks from the slow cooker and set aside for a few minutes to cool.
  • In the meantime, strain the cooking liquid through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the solids.
  • Set the slow cooker to high heat and add the cooking liquid.
  • Return the pork hocks to the slow cooker with a pair of tongs or two forks to shred them into bite-sized pieces.
  • Cook for another 30 minutes to an hour on high, until the pork is heated through and the sauce has thickened slightly.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy.
